Carter's Prognosis

After getting x-rays today we know that Little G doesn't have any broken bones. Hooray! However, he does have a torn muscle in the top of his foot. It is very painful and he can't walk on it. But the doc said it should start feeling better in about a week. Lots of ice and ibuprofin and a little bit of love should take care of it. Hopefully he'll be up for a t-ball game sometime end of next week.

Ouch. My hubby is dealing with a torn muscle in his knee right now -- we are just icing it down with bags of frozen peas.

And I love what your daughter is bringing home from her science camp. And then I got the monster art project...I think I got jipped!

Poor little guy, that sounds horrible.

I remember my sister getting a shot in her let once and crawling around with it dragging behind her, it is pitiful!

Owie! Poor Carter! Glad it isn't broken. Guess the stroller will be handy again to get him around.

Love the mummy!

So glad it's not the dreaded break. You know what I didn't tell you when you told me about it? The very first thing that popped into my mind was an absolutely dreadful story, and I'm not so sure I should really share here either. Why can't I just keep any single solitary thought to myself? It's absolutely impossible for me...

Anyway...get ready...it really is horrible. That's why I didn't say anything, but the first thing that popped into my mind when we were discussing whether or not we thought it was broken was the time I was working as a teacher's aide at an Elementary school, and a little boy jumped off of a fairly low box in the playground. It was really a storage box for playground toys, and all of the kids loved jumping off of it. It was really only about two feet high, and he landed in wood chips, but nonetheless, he broke his leg. Did I tell you this story? I think I did....anyway, this poor poor poor poor kindergartener (oh, it's so different now that I have a little 6 year old myself) ended up passing away due to complications from the break.

I KNOW!!! SOOOOO SAD!!! I've never, ever forgotten it. I thought, such a small thing, a small jump. That poor family. All of the teachers were devistated. Now that I have children, to tell the story is even more devistating to me. Absolutely terrible.

Anyway.....didn't I say I was going to try and not make these huge long comments anymore?

Whew...sad story...

Miki- Oh dear! I think I do veguely remember that story now. So sad. I'll bet the poor kid got a blood clot. I've heard bad breaks can do that. Thank goodness Carter's isn't broken.

Becky- We miss you guys. I didn't know you were headed to UT. We need to get together and do something fun when you get back.

Queen- (I always want to call you Queenie.) Yes, mom is okay with the foot. Now the sunburn I allowed him to get over the weekend is a completely different story. I feel like worst mother of the year. My poor baby!

I'm glad he's OK. I see that his team doesn't play Jaden's until the 9th so hopfully he'll have a full recovery by then :)

You can call me Queenie I like that, not so serious as Queen. I really am not a serious person, but I am definately the queen around my little castle.
