A perfect day!

It was a PERFECT day today; 75 degrees, very gentle breeze, nice and sunny, just gorgeous. We started it off with a walk in the park, then off to the zoo, next a bike ride, and finally fun in the backyard. What a beautiful day to be outside!

Isn't Halle's hair so pretty with the sun behind it?

It was the first time I have let Kate go in the backyard and just play. She had a ball running around. (There is NOTHING better than a fenced in yard!!)

Carter showing off the snail he found. "Snakes and snails, and puppy dog tails; that's what little boys are made of."

Alyssa trying her best to get her kite up in the sky.

Even Johnny enjoyed the nice weather.

Jarom is 31; Man we're getting old!

Sunday, September 24th was Jarom's 31st birthday. I have known Jarom since I was 12 years old, that's 19 years! We have been together since we were 17 years old; that's 14 years (for those of you who don't want to do the math.) And we have been married for 9 years. I can't believe it has been so long. It makes me feel very old to be able to say I have memories of "20 years ago". He is my best friend and I am so grateful to have had the past almost 20 years and look forward to next 20. Happy Birthday old man!

Red Velvet cake at Jarom's mom's house.

Opening presents from the kids.

Jarom's loot! A new toaster with 4 extra wide slots, new temple shoes, a new alarm clock, drawing from Alyssa, and his new HP Ipaq phone (complete with ALL the bells and whistles).

Kate enjoyed birthday cake almsot more than Jarom. She's eating Grandma's silver white cake. (It was a double party for Jarom and his Grandma Freidenberger, but somehow I didn't get a picture of them together. Infact, I had forgotten my camera all together. Thanks to Jarom's dad for taking some pictures for me.)

Hello? Anybody there?

Is she not the cutest thing?! She is learning so much so fast. I just can't get enough of her.

"I know this works somehow!"

"How about this? Hello? I can't hear anybody."

"Maybe if I eat it someone will talk to me."

BYU Fun! Or should I say "fan"?

Jarom enjoyed another BYU home game this weekend. It was a shut-out. BYU won 38-0, (I think that was the score.) He didn't take any of the kids this time and I think he rather enjoyed himself. He was joined by the usual party, Brandon and Chris. I am glad he can have fun with his brothers-in-law.

Dress up at Grammy's

Halle plays dress up at Grammy's every time we go there. She also usually tries to sneak Kate into the room and dress her up as well. This was taken a while ago, but depicts the situation pretty well. Poor little Kate, she puts up with a lot.

Alyssa

Alyssa loves to play school. I am constantly finding my chairs all lined up and her "teaching". Yesterday I came home and found EVERY chair I own lined up in my foyer and front room. I couldn't have opened my front door if I tried.

Hanging with Dad. He always has the "cool" things. Apparently I am boring...

Carter and the Cats

Carter absolutely LOVES my mom's cats. This is him with Friend. The cat truelly lives up to his name. He is the nicest cat and puts up with ANYTHING anyone does to him. Poor thing!

September Birthdays

September is a big month for my family. Jarom, Emily, Deidra, and Natalie all have birthdays this month. So we had a big celebration for them all, (minus Natalie who is in the middle of moving to CA). It was a fun time complete with dinner, presents and cake. My girls spent about 45 minutes hanging balloons and scraps of crepe paper on the walls for decorations. It was pretty cute.

Blowing out birthday candles! (Alyssa and Brylee wanted to be in on the fun as well.)

Jarom enjoying gifts. I think this one was a "battery-less" (is that a word) flashlight, and some coasters so he can bring his midnight snacks into our bedroom. These were from my mom.

Emily getting the standard Barnes and Noble gift card from me and my family.

Deidra opening a gift from her sister Kody (I think that's how they spell her name). It was a package full of fun things from candles to a DVD.

"Say Cheese!" This is the only way I can get a picture of little stinker Kayson. He always runs from the camera when he sees me coming. He's so cute, but doesn't want his picture taken.

Alyssa, Halle, and Liberty. They had just gotten done doing "makeup" and had LOTS of sparkles. Carter had just come down buck naked and sparkeled head to toe. It was hilarious. (Sorry no pictures!)

It was a great night. Hope everyone had a good time.

The bathroom cupboard

Kate LOVES to play under the sink in my bathroom while I get ready. I finally got smart and emptied one out just for her to play in. Carter thinks it's pretty fun too.

Now there's a hair-do!

Kate gets some serious bed-head once in a while. I wish you could have seen this one with her standing, but my camera battery died. It was quite the "do".

Gooooooo Cougars!

Jarom bought TWO season tickets to BYU football this year. Halle was lucky to be the first guest taken along. They had a good time full of spilled pop slushy, Reese's Pieces, sticky cotton candy, and who knows what else. The night ended with a game delay due to lightening and they were dumped on by a rain storm. Needless to say Halle had a very fun adventure; Jarom says she only gets one game per year to go to. She came home with this BYU cheerleader outfit. Is she not the cutest little cheerleader you ever saw? What a great daddy-daughter date!

Then on the ride home she told Jarom all about a bully at school. She said, "If he doesn't be nicer he'll have to go up to Satan and pay all his heaven money." Jarom told her there isn't money in heaven to which she replied, "Well, Mom says you have to pay for bad things you do." HA! From the mouths of babes! (At least I know she's listening even if she doesn't understand.)

(Don't say anything to her about this though. She gets really embarrassed. It was too cute for me not to share.)

My friend the Croc Hunter!!

Any of you who know me, know how much I loved Steve Irwin. I just had to put him in my blog and say how sad I am that he's gone!! Jarom and I had even talked about going to Australia next year for our 10th anniversary to see Steve's zoo. (Secretly I hoped to meet him. Or at least see him feed a real live croc!) Anyway, guess I'll never see him in person. "Crikey!" This house will miss the croc hunter. Too sad!!!

Eastern Idaho State Fair

My little Blackfoot Indians. The fair just isn't the fair without getting a feather hat from the Culligan man, and a Smokey the Bear sack full of goodies. These are things that have been at the fair ever since I was a little kid. Good times!

Kevin, Becky, and Owen

While we were enjoying rides, Kevin was off playing a basketball shoot game and won this giant lion. It was pretty cool.

The kids and me on the caterpillar roller coaster. They all loved it.

Jarom and the kids on the airplane ride. I sure am glad he went on this one with them and not me. It was the LONGEST ride I have ever seen. I would have barfed by the time it was over. Everytime the planes would go around Carter would try to wave at me. He was so disoriented that he never knew where to look for me. It was hilarious. He was just waving to wave. VERY CUTE!

This week the fair is going on in Blackfoot. It's pretty much tradition to attend on Labor Day. We had a good time and Kevin and Becky joined us, as well as Grandma and Papa for a short time. We ate lots of great fair food, (my favorite part), saw some fun booths, and enjoyed a few rides. It was very fun.

Playing with my camera

Trying to accent pink.

Trying to accent Kate's purple. She was moving so much it was almost impossible to get a shot of her.

Blue accent.

I found out my camera can do some pretty cool things. I am still trying to work out the kinks and figure out how to get the picture without it blurring. But I thought these were some cute shots regardless.
