Tis the Season

I have really been enjoying this season's neighbor gifts. Seems like budgets feel tight everywhere you turn and the good old fashioned homemade goody plate is back this year. Only two of the several gifts we've received so far haven't been homemade. I love to see every one's Christmas favorites that they put on the plate. There's been everything from gingerbread brownies to sugar cookies. My kids squeal every time the doorbell rings.

I got my first carolers today; two cute girls alternated the words of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" while a darling boy did a little jig in his snow boots. They had been delivering neighbor gifts and rang my bell on their way home.

And a Merry Christmas to you from the Critters at our place.

As we were looking at Christmas lights in your neighborhood we saw these three walking home. I was wondering why they were out on a cold night like this. What cuties to come caroling to their own homes.

I want a goodie plate. I do, I do...me, me, me.

Sigh...
our only neighbors are dead people, deer, fox, rabbits, opossum, skunk, snakes, groundhogs, and wild turkeys. No goodie plates from them.

Awwwwww! I love the picture of Mimsi and ...oh my goodness I can't remember his name all of a sudden! How could I forget when he .......JOHNNY!!!!

Anyway...so cute that your kids gave you a carol impromptu, and I know you enjoy all of those homemade goodies because I bet you love to wonder what other people make and their recipes!

I'm feeling that "PERFECT TREE" comment mix up feeling...I'm going to stop now while I'm ahead.

I don't think anyone will understand this whole comment except you...for heaven's sake.

I'm glad the spirit lives on in Idaho. I'm afraid it's a little ba-hum bug here. I've hardly seen a thing and the Christmas Cards are a little sparce as well (hint hint). However, I do enjoy the simple homemade gifts myself. Just did a big batch of brownies. ummm!

Our ward di the come and gather and everyone bring a plate of cookies to share kinda thing. In my buck-the-system-fashion I still delivered homemade turtles. I still want my neighbors to know that I care and appreciate them.

I will have to see if I can send more minty's your way.... So sad that they are not more locally shared - you would think Idaho was a suburb of UTah and they could send more there.....

ACK! I need more kids here to eat the treats that are coming by. I loved hearing about those cuties coming to "carol" you.

Hope you keep having a SWEET Christmas season!

The neighbor gifts are sparse this year, I must agree, but I am one of the guilty ones who is delivering a can of peanuts to my neighbors! I usually love to put together some creative idea for neighbor gifts and that is the first ones I get done (the day after Christmas), but this year...different story! Glad to hear the kids are so involved and loving it!

I have only gotten ONE goody plate this year (and I devoured all the fudge on it....by myself!). Either that means that people aren't doing goodies this year, or they all arrive on Christmas Eve when you then have so much you get sick of it all and end up throwing it out. Hmmm...

I'm so glad Johnny and Mimzi get along :)
