Just about 12 years ago Jarom was hired as a contract employee for Hewlett Packard. He answered phones and did customer support for printers. About a year later he was offered a full time position as an actual HP employee. This meant a pay cut for us, but the opportunity to move up, so he took the position. I was nervous about the pay cut and I'll admit a little pessimistic. I'm the type of person who DOES NOT like change. Thank goodness Jarom didn't listen to my woes and went ahead with the position move.
He has been with HP ever since and has moved up the ladder. Landing himself a nice position which allowed him to travel the world (and I got to go with a couple of times). However, Jarom has always had visions of being his own boss and owning his own company.
He's been working on that dream for the past few years wanting to take the leap from HP and go completely on his own. I of course, have held him back. (Again, not so good with change.) But, HP is helping me learn to fly and pushing me out of the nest, by allowing Jarom to take a layoff in the work force reduction of his team.
Yes, my husband VOLUNTEERED to be laid off during a recession. Sounds crazy I know. And I would be lying if I said there weren't tears and frustrations on my part. (Here comes that evil change again.) But Jarom feels very calm about the entire situation and is extremely excited to get out on his own for good. I am doing much better having prayed MANY times and feel a peace and calm about the situation. I trust and fully support my husband in this next venture of our lives. I KNOW he will do great at anything he sets his hand at doing. He's smart and wise and savvy. So to him I say CONGRATULATIONS Honey! Here we go!!!

here you go! i am sure he will be successful.
Wow. I would be right there with you. Change is scary. And especially now. But...if he feels led to do this...I am sure that ya'll are headed down the right path. And congratulations!
I know just how you feel and how long you two have been working toward this. Trust your peaceful feelings (especially when you hit that 1st bump in the plan/road). You're a great team together and Jarom is fabulous in what he does too. Good Luck and Congrats on this giantic step FORWARD!!!
Tell jarom good luck! Change IS evil! I know this will be a good outcome though since the spirit has told you so.
I'm glad to have been "in" on this secret a little early. Kept you in my prayers. And I just KNOW Jarom can do this! Here's to the newest chapter in your life!
Conratulations! I would be nervous too! But....we need to trust our God and our men :-) Here's to your future!
Good Luck! I am sure everything will work out wonderfully! I realized that your SIL was my neighbor before I left on my trip, but had no time to comment! It was funny, I was reading your blog about how she was having trouble with closing and stuff, and then I realize, it was about the house in our little circle that we have been waiting forever for someone to move into! We met at church, and they seem great!
Wow, that is scary exciting!
I'll pray for much success with his newest endeavour.
Good for you for trusting, that is huge!
Just found out 20 minutes ago John lost his job.
:-(
Not where you are right now attitude wise....but I'll get there. Thanks for being a GREAT example to me today, Elena.
wow! that is scary in its own way....but Heavenly Father won't lead you wrong. remember those calming feelings whenyou're starting to panic! :)
it'll work out! good luck!
Jarom is the best! Best of luck, and we are with you all the way!
Proud to be a client!

Wow, No worries, I wish you all the best of luck and I know you will find great success now and in the future. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love ya
YAY, Elena! I think this is an even bigger step for you than it is for Jarom! Good for you! I think the best things come from the things we were most afraid of doing. Congrats!
By the way, we're going to be in IF for 5 days for New Years. YAY! I'm also considering just coming up one of these weekends before then because I'm lonely... :)
I knew there was a reason that I have been putting your name in the temple and wondering why when I know her only through this arena.....inspiration happens in funny ways and I hope that blessings will pour down upon you. It is an adventure but also an amazing opportunity too. We have dear friends that her husband has his own company and he LOVES IT!!!!! They are so happy to not have the better you do the more the company takes away from you. Go Jarom!!!
WOW!!! Good luck in your new endeavors!!! How come nobody ever tells me big things like this until after the fact?! -- Quin
