Holy Cow!

Jarom says that the Indians cringe whenever he lets the common American phrase, "Holy Cow!" slip out. I have NEVER thought of it as being offensive to anyone, (shows my complete naivety), but it is vulgar to the Indians. Their cows are sacred and (for lack of a better word) holy. Must be where this term stemmed from.
