Halle was assigned to do a report on John F Kennedy. There couldn't have been a better presidential choice. My mother-in-law is a democrat and JFK is one of her most favorite presidents. My mom is a republican and was a 5th grader in downtown Dallas at the time of JFK's assassination. (Two very opposing views on the same man.) So it was fun for us to be able to do the report and talk about everything.
Now as fun as learning the facts and history were, the best part about the report was making the presidential "doll".
Whether you are a fan of JFK or not, you have to admit that this little "guy" is adorable. Halle and I had such fun making him. Although, the entire time I was doing it I was wishing for all you people's talents. I didn't have a clue how to make a suit out of felt (I am SO not a seamstress and didn't even know where to begin.) but I think it turned out okay. And one try of making hands, was instantly turned into shoving his hands into pockets.
Halle was so funny with him. Before we glued him to the poster board, she would carry him around and say, "Hi, I'm John F Kennedy. Aren't I cute?" LOL! You know, he was well liked by all the ladies in his time. :)
(Oh, and it was a read in today at school. Hence Halle's pj's.)

That is so CUTE!!!! And I love that you put his hands in his pockets! I don't think I would have thought of that, but it's brilliant!
LOL! (He was well liked by the ladies) LOL I love the little JFK man! Don't be wishing for other's talents; he's FABulous! I couldn't have done it as well as you! Way to go!
Actually, I think Halle is somewhat cuter than JFK.
Well.......
But on the other hand, I am so impressed with your creativity!
It looks great. JFK out of felt now I would not have thought of that one. Looks great and she had a great time doing it with mom, that is all that matters in the end.
Nice work! JFK would be proud! :)
What are you talking about!? That was awesome creativity. I like the hands in pocket president! You guys did a great job. It was awesome....really!
Halle will always remember JFK...
Way to go, Halle! What a cute little doll. Uncle Justin will be so proud!
