Picnic in the Park

Alyssa- "Mom, can we go for a bike ride to the park and have a picnic?

Me (nice voice)- "Sure, why not?"

Me (nice voice)- "Everyone look at me and smile."

Me (still nice voice)- "Everyone has to keep looking at me. Let's try that again."

Me (a bit annoyed) - "Carter look at mom. Kate-Kate look at me!"

Me (desperately pleading)- "PLEASE don't look anywhere but at me!"

Me (VERY agitated)- "Alyssa! Good grief! You're the biggest one here!"

Me (practically yelling)- "CARTER! KATE! EVERYONE say we love bike rides!"

Me (sighing and exhausted)- "Good enough. Go play."

That really cracks me up! I hate trying to get pictures with Lily, I can't imagine trying to get FOUR to look at me! I love the last pic of Kate! She looks like she is having a great time! Don't forget to put Aloe Vera on your "lobster" burn so you don't peel!

"Mark, come look at this...."

Nod and smile, then walk away....

We're so different.

So cute! Love the look on Kate's face in that last one! TOo hot here for picnics now--and it just barely got warm enough to have one!

Cute,Cute, Kids!! I love looking at the process of a decent picture! I have to apologize about the movie theatre- after I walked by I thought- maybe I should stop and ACTUALLY say Hello! Anyway- I didn't know if you were in a hurry or what! That's very funny about Walwart! I had to get a few things and it is so nice to go without children!!(And after the blog about how much fun you had at the grocery store when one of your little girls was at dance- I guess you probably had the same idea!) Good Luck with the sunburn- I have one with blisters on my neck- So I know how you feel!!!

Jewelle- yes lots of aloe!

Miki- Reminds me of a certain series of X-mas pictures of yours.

Jennifer- Yuck, I don't envy that hot hot weather.

Emily- i think every mother can identify with this one.

Julie- Real life!

Angela- I wouldn't call it a great shot, but it worked.

Brenda- No worries, I thought the same thing as I walked on by. I actually saw you (well the back of you) at Blast Off a few nights ago too. But you were leaving and we were coming. Crazy how much I've seen you lately.

Joni- For sure. Let's hurry and do it before you move away!

Oh my gosh that is laugh out loud funny. And let me just say, the whole scenario can be replicated across every family with kids around the world. I have now decided those pics with kids looking every which way but at the camera are the best...because that is all I have. So I have to be satisfied;)

So real and honest. Come on kids! How hard can it be to look at your mother? :-)

Oh, such a familiar scene. We do a family picture each year...and I am often heard to say "you will smile. You will be happy." *snort*

Aren't you thankful for digital photos now, though? Its awesome to be able to click away without calculating the cost of the film you are rapidly going through! :)
