Cake, Music, Friends, and Storms

Get the driving treats ready; we're going on a road trip! There's a party going down in Boise and I plan to be there. And be sure to call a bloggy friend that you've never talked to in person before. Sure helps the time pass more quickly. (SOOO fun to talk to WishTrish in person!! Such a cute little voice she has.)

First stop ,Miki's! She was so sweet to house Kate and I and even got a babysitter for the evening. Kate and Camille (and Megan, not pictured) had fun playing house and squealing at make believe monsters. I was so happy that Kate had fun. She's picky with who she is willing to play with, but she really enjoyed her new "best fwinds". (And I enjoyed being with my dear friend Miki!)

Now....on to the party! Jennifer turned 34 and threw the party of all parties.
There was entertainment. And Jennifer even danced for the crowd.

There was dancing and a live band. (I'm so surprised the cops didn't show up. It was so loud! LOL!)

There was even cake (with YUMMY frosting which Jennifer needs to post the recipe of, ahem)!

And best of all there were friends. So fun for me to meet Queenie (on the right) for the first time. We hit it off like old friends, not skipping a beat. Sure wish blogs could portray laughter because there was lots with Queenie and her laugh is something everyone should hear!

And just like that, our time was over and we had to head back home. Such a long drive for WAY too short of a time with friends.

Now...cue music. Yep, go hit play on my playlist. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Did you do it?
Are you listening to that creepy song?
Let the words start, they're even creepier.
Yeah...that was the song that played just as I saw THIS up ahead.

Tell me that wasn't a little ominous? I totally freaked myself out. LOL! But we made it safe and sound (albeit a little slower than normal) and I'm all ready to do it all again! But not while listening to scary music, driving through scary weather.

Thanks everyone for SUCH a fun weekend!

I SERIOUSLY busted up laughing when I saw that picture of me in the pathetic mosh pit :)! Love, love, loved having you guys there! My turn to come visit you next!

2 sticks room temp. butter
2 7.5oz jars of marshmallow fluff
2/3 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (don't go getting the milk ones on me now Elena! :) ) melted and cooled
1 tablespoon vanilla

Mix the butter and fluff till creamy, then throw the other stuff in.

That's some serious love if I'm giving you my top secret frosting recipe :)

Yes....your music if freaky. Good for storms!

Glad you made it home safely!!!

I love the music. And the thunderstorm. But I don't like driving in them so much.

The party looks wild! I have never thrown myself a birthday party. I am thinking next year when I land on the big 4-0 will demand at least a month of parties!

Glad you had an enjoyable time. I'm glad to hear that Kate enjoyed herself too!

I like the music! :) Funny timing.

Wow, Jennifer's frosting sounds TOO good! And yes, I don't believe in semi-sweet chocolate chips, so I'd be guilting of putting the real stuff in! :) You too?

That party looked like a ton of fun. Glad you got to go!

...and eeek! I saw clouds like that down here this weekend -- haven't seen a sky like that since my Texas days. We ended up getting a couple of rip-snortin' storms, and the Angel Moroni statue even got zapped! Wow.

to quote one of my favorite movies - meeting you was "Totally Awesome"!!! That was too fun to not do again and I am still wanting to come and help you paint. Just call and I will be there, hopefully not with such weird music and scary clouds following me....glad to meet you and glad you made it home safe. You are the bomb lady!!!♥
