Don't ask me what is wrong with my camera, I haven't a clue. I fear it's on its last leg. Alyssa came home begging to join orchestra and play cello. I called around and found out I could rent a cello for $65 for the entire school year. So I figured, what the hay, why not? We now have a pretty (albeit scratched up and used) cello in our home. It's been fun for all of us to give it a go.
Alyssa even talked Bailey into joining. Bailey chose violin, and now everyday after school, we are serenaded with the sweet sounds of screeching strings. It's a beautiful thing. :)

Oh, you are a patient mama with the string instruments - I don't know if I could take the noise :-)
Bless you, and your ears! :) I have a bro that plays the cello, and another bro and sister that play the violin...
They're really good now, but those first few years were very painful...maybe as painful as my flute-playing. LOL!
Fun! I played the viola for a year in elementary.
Yay! Thomas is taking violin, too-- now we just need another one and they could be a quartet. They can practice at your house. Hee.
that is wonderful that they wanted to join...(as you know) they will so benifit from the discipline it takes to learn a musical instrument -- and string one at that...it'll be nice to hear them improve over time.
YES! You have joined the string club! What a good Mama you are and now you can reminize (sp) about the good ol' days in string tech! haha!
Tell her it's awesome she picked the cello. (not the violin like everyone else). If I did it over again, I'd learn the cello or the double bass. :)
How awesome.
Good for her for being her own girl- and for building up those muscles!
Mayzie is back on violin this year, but she tells me that next year she is going to do flute! Switch from orchestra to band? What next? Date a drummer? *sigh* ;)
