One of those days.

  • Get to church on time...check (miracle!)
  • Notice son with soup spilled all over shirt...check
  • 3 year old pee her panties...check
  • Run home to get changes of clothes for Carter and Kate...check
  • Notice Carter doesn't have any clean clothes to change into....check
  • Throw vest and tie on top of soup spill for Carter...check
  • Get back to church...check
  • Told by friend that your own dress is ripped...check
  • Stay at church wearing ripped dress because you have no more pride...check
  • Have zero plan for singing time in primary...check
  • Sweat so bad leading music in primary that your hair curls....check
  • Be thankful you are wearing a black nylon shirt so that no one can see your sweaty pits, and chest, and back...check
  • Have to fill extra time with singing because sharing time was a little short...check
  • Sweat a little more...check
  • Go home filled with the spirit...hmmm, check?
  • Go home with a headache...check

I hope you came home and drank a big bottle of Vodka...like any good, Mormon Primary chorister would do!
:)

Glad you survived...kinda!

ROFL!!! That is EXACTLY how my day went yesterday too! Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I'm glad you survived though. I'm sure your singing time was probably FABULOUS even if you hadn't planned it. You were always so creative with the things you did.

You are amazing. I probably would have fallen apart and got too flustered to continue. You did AWESOME! I know the request made was a little much, but I know you'll get it figured out...

I call it the Sunday Migraine! Should be gone by now...I hope! Sorry it was one of those days...I spare you my 10 year olds come apart about having nothing to wear. Which of course she does! Sigh...Let's do lunch!

Lol! Just another Sunday, right? Sounds like our house. Nice to know others deal with the same stuff:)

We love you anyway. You always do a great job and everyone else didn't even notice all of those things (okay-someone did notice the skirt). I could have loaned you some tape or a stapler. Sorry about the sweating. I really would have turned the A/C on for you, but was a little afraid of getting chewed out again. Aren't you glad that day is over?-Kayce

Ha! Oh my Elena! I am soooo sorry! If it makes you feel any better I was way sweaty too! You always do an amazing job, and you are very cool and collected. I would have never guessed you had such a crazy day! We are very thankful for you, and I will pray next Sunday will run smooth as icecream!

Oh Elena it sounds like a rough Sunday!
You are a trooper though!
I love the "throw a vest and tie on top of soup spilled shirt"! - That is the sign of a true and experienced mother!! Whoo Hoooo
And also staying at church with your ripped dress because you have no more pride - ha ha.
You are so cute and right now you are my hero!! Way to make it work :D

Sorry you had to go through all of that just to give me a good belly laugh. Next time you could just make it up.....but it probably wouldn't be as funny :-)

Oh good lord. Wait. That was probably inappropriate. And probably just as inappropriate when I utter that exact same sentiment a few weeks ago at the Christian bookstore when I was trying to get a bible for Madalyn. Those things are freaky expensive!

Anyway...sorry about your Sunday. I am thinking that Jennifer P's sentiment might make you ponder :-)

My poor baby. Just a right of passage I guess.

Elena -- LOL! You have a way with words.

Been there. Could add a few teenager "Sunday specials" that are still waiting for you.

Nah. Just gonna send ya some hugs.

Isn't Sunday supposed to be the day of rest?? I feel for you! I have had all of those things, just not all on the same day!! You are a lucky gall. My dress blunder has to do with me being very pregnant and wearing a dress that buttoned down the back-all the way down the back- and loosing a few of the much needed hiney area buttons:)

I so feel for you guys that do the sharing time and music. It is the best/worst job in primary and one that I sure hope they never call me to. I would cry ever week...check!
