We enjoyed Anna's famous bierocks- bread pockets filled with meat and cabbage, I made frikadelins (sausage and hamburger meatballs) with sauerkraut, amber brought haagen-dazs ice cream, Becky made German hot potato salad, Kaylin brought brownies, and Emily brought German chocolate cupcakes and the beer...rootbeer of course
This was good fun, but the highlight of the event was when Jarom's mom walked out in this cute little get up. So funny and made the Oktoberfest feel VERY festive.
OH!
ReplyDeleteI want a dress like that.
What a fun thing to do in October. I want to have one now!
Oh, and if I didn't tell you before, I am 5 feet 11 inches!

your MIL is fabulous! that get-up is awesome---she is going to wear it for your ward halloween party, eh? (she'll win 1st prize for sure!)
ReplyDeleteglad you all had fun---but more importantly: did BYU win?!
Ya'll do some really fun things! Our church had it's Oktoberfest celebration last weekend. It was a huge hit. They had a polka band, great food, beer, wine, dancing, games. And in a few weeks we have friends throwing an Octobrewfest. My hubby is happy because he is the king of snobby beers...
ReplyDeleteYou guys have way too much fun! I'm jealous and think it may be time to throw a party!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by my place last Thursday on our BATW tour! I hope you'll visit again!
I took a look around your blog. I am going to have to try those Biscuit Bubble Rings!
I used to know a good beer, rootbeer German drinking song. One year of high-School German just did not make it stick though. What a fun night - GO Cougars!!!
ReplyDeleteHey...I remember this post....kind of! I feel like I've been to this party already!
ReplyDeleteEmily is tall! That's gotta be so nice.
Our very own Gretel. Now if only we can get my dad to dress up as Hansel. What a pair they would be!!! It was such a fun time!

ReplyDeleteas an "honorary german" I am laughing at y'all's idea of Germany :)! First of all Haagen Dazs is just a made up word (seriously!--it's from no language whatsoever--I should know--I'm an ice cream freak :)!) And Germans H-A-T-E Root Beer! hate it I tell you! Won't touch the stuff! Fanta, on the other hand, is as German as it gets :)!
ReplyDeleteStill---it looks like you guys had a GREAT time and I LOVE the costume!!!
I love families who create their own fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Please come again!
Like the commenter above said, She does look like the St, Pauli girl!!! That looks like lots of fun but BYU...no no no...its PSU all the way baby!
