Kate is a Sunbeam

Today Kate graduated from nursery at church and moved up to primary. She's now in the 3-4 year old class, the Sunbeams. It's always SO exciting each January for the new Sunbeams to join the "big kids" in the primary room. I can't believe my baby is already so grown up. (I still remember vividly the day Alyssa joined Sunbeams; I swear it was just last January.) It's even harder for me to believe that I no longer have a nursery kid. So sad, but I guess that is the way life goes.

Kate did shockingly well during singing time and sharing time. (I'm the music lady, so it was fun for me to get to see her.) She did run up to the front during the prayer so that she could sit by Carter. (He had the talk today, his first one, and I COMPLETELY forgot about it until I saw his name on the program during sacrament meeting. I even had had a reminder. But we pulled it off.) Carter on the other hand, fell fast asleep, sitting straight up in his hard chair. Our church time switched to 1 pm today and you all know Carter, if he even sits still for one second at that time of day, he's out cold.

And a little funny to add: This morning while we were getting ready for church, Kate was being a bit of a squirt. I told her she was being a little brat (I was just joking with, not angry at all) and she turned to me and told me, "I NOT a bwat; I a Sunbeam!" And that was that.

How sweet. She looks like a ray of sunshine :-)

And I love your new layout. I am a big fan of black and white.

How long does church last for you guys? My kids start frothing at the mouth if we are there for more than an hour...

owen screamed and cried the first 20 minutes...even with me sitting right by him. he HATED IT! he was begging to go back to nursery with wesley. finally, kevin bribbed him with a new toy and owen bravely went to class (whimpering for a few minutes) and actually stayed the entire time and did just fine! needless to say, it was a LONG sunday!

glad kate enjoyed it! and carter cracks me up!

we switched to the 1pm meeting~Will graduated to Sunbeams~and I am the Primary Chorister...weird =D

Do you have any great ideas for learning new songs? I grew up with Suzuki piano and so hearing the music over and over with repitition is the way I learned. A little boring though.

well she told you didn't she? How could anybody that is called a sunbeam be a 'bwat'?!

what? Elena leading music? you've never done THAT before :)!!!

That Kate is just as cute as they come! So glad she made the transition well---and good to hear about the success of Carter's last minute talk too!

Jana was in my ward yesterday since we're back in the Central stake. It was good to see her!....reminded me of you!

Oh they grow up too fast!
And she really is just too cute.

Anna never once cried when changing classes. Sarah is a different story. :-)

my son became a sunbeam yesterday as well----now THAT was fun---sooooo chaotic and crazy (i't the primary chorister too) and jack kept raising his hand and yelling "i know mommy, i know!) and then every time i would walk by him, he would grab my skirt---but it was so cute...and i am a non-nuresry mom too---i think that it is about time to have a baby! :)
--that is not an annoucement...

I think that's wonderful and not Sad at all...no more runny noses, colds, etc. All that "fun" nursery sharing. ;)
What a big girl! I remember Lizzy's first day. She ran and sat in her chair and pointed to the door. "Get out Mom! It's not your class!" And that was that. (How could I be sad?)

LOL!!! You crack me up...

PLEASE tell me if Tanner is misbehaving in primary...I wanted to sneek in so bad to watch, but didn't want to cause a problem. I think it would have been worse if I were still the Choirester...you'll do great, and you have a very well-behaved helper...

I love Carter!!! He's such a cutie!!! Tanner slept clear through Sacrament...I had to wake him up to go to primary...LOL!

I didn't think I would be so affected by this because I've already heard about this post, but seeing that picture of Kate, and having an immediate flashback to when you were pregnant with her and moving just almost was too much for me! TOO MUCH! It's too fast, tooooo fast!!

I'm sad, because I remember thinking at one point, "ope, I must be getting old because I'm starting to think that one year goes by in the blink of an eye."

Now, I think 10 years really isn't very much time! WHAT THE HECK!

Yes...I'm silent now...shaking my head. I used to look forward to the day when I thought I would finally "get it" when all the adults would say, "you don't understand, you're too young." Now that I'm just starting to "get it" and "understand", I think I really don't want to know what's out there to "get" anymore. It's scary to "get it".
