What Time Is Dinner?

Last night Jarom called and asked what was for dinner. I told him left overs to which he replied, "What? Did you just say you and I are going out to eat?" And then he thought for a minute and started to feel guilty about leaving the kids. Something about "family home evening" and all. So he said, "Let's take the kids to the movies and then we'll all go to dinner."

Well the movie started at 7:10 and my clock said 6:37. We did the throw-on-the-closest-pair-of-shoes-you-can-find-and-jump-in-the-truck maneuver and off we headed to the dollar movie to see Madagascar 2. (Much better than the first in my opinion.) Everyone got their own bag of popcorn and cup of pop and we settled in for the show. (I SWEAR those seats have gotten smaller. I refuse to think that maybe I've grown.) With the exception of having to take Kate potty 3 separate times during the show, we all enjoyed ourselves.

My cupboards looked like Old Mother Hubbard's, so we decided to swing by the grocery store on our way home. We got a few essentials and $75 later we were finally headed home. (Listening to Kate cry the whole way that she had to go potty AGAIN.)

We got home and enjoyed a nice homemade dinner of Kraft Mac-n-Cheese at precisely 10:21 PM. Yes, I served my family dinner 2 hours past bedtime. (Would this count for an entry for Mother of Year?) Then as soon as Alyssa started eating, she started bawling that her throat was hurting. I looked inside and sure enough, NASTY tonsils. It just hit her like a brick. (We'll go to the doc in the morning to get our strep swab. I think the only thing I hate worse than strep is stomach flu, ugghhh!)

So that is how my evening went yesterday. I did get my bathroom (tub included; HATE cleaning tubs) scrubbed and Alyssa and I got pretty far on our puzzle we've been working on since Christmas. (Thanks for the tips Miki, they helped a TON!) What did you do yesterday?

There are somethings I just hate to do and that is cleaning tubs... but I do have to say that my hubby is very good about taking that task on, but only after telling me that it needs done.

You asked what I did yesterday? Let me just tell you by saying...

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(ok, regaining control)

Yesterday and today -- we are helping the Sweet Girl with a tedious science fair project that she procrastinated to the last minute! It must be completed before school starts on Monday. I *loathe* science fair projects....

You tub scrubbers are the lucky ones! Count your blessings...

Yesterday? Well we cleaned the house and went to the dollar movie, HSM3 and Iggy's for lunch. Then we had friends over for a Guitar Hero & pizza FHE (nice huh?).
Today I took down all the decorations minus all my cute snowmen. Inside and out. Ahhh... Now I'm ready to play you in scrabble!

Hope Allysa feels better soon.

at lest you all got to go out! even if it ended with strep and a small bladdered child----i'm with you---i really don't like to clean my tub, something about mildew and soap scum combined is just not much fun (as a consequence it is usually a few weeks between cleaning for me). but i do like me a clean bathroom sink & mirror
we didn't do much yesterday (even though all my family is still here)

1. At least your child is potty trained...still working on that-for eternity, I think.

2. You are an amazing mom...taking your kids to the movies-rock on.

3. Good luck with the strep. Yuck. Hope she feels better soon.

We saw Madagascar 2 at the dollar movie too. And I have got to get myself back to WW or Atkins or something. Cause my hips were not digging the arm rests. The arm rests on the other hand wanted to become permanent fixtures with my hips.

I think we'll just pay the big bucks for the theatres with the love seats.

But...that movie was HILARIOUS!

Strep...not so much...

You are mother of the year, indeed. And that sounds like the perfect evening for family night. But now I feel all guilty 'cause y'all felt guilty for thinking of going out without your kids. Girl--we go on a date at least every other weekend. Without our kids...because our marriage requires it!
