Try-It-Tuesday

(FYI, the audio for T-I-T is all screwed up, I think because I name it the same thing every week.)

It's been rainy and dreary and cold here this week. Perfect fall weather. A nice hot bowl of hearty stew was much needed. Alyssa said, "Hey, it's our first fall food. Or we could call it FFF." Maybe I should rename this stew to FFF. :)

This is a recipe I got from my sister-in-law, Katie, who doesn't do a blog. (But we won't say anything about that. :P )Its as easy as they come and tastes great!

Crockpot Stew (Now known as FFF in my house.)

  • One can Tomato Soup

  • One can Cream of Mushroom Soup

  • One can Golden Mushroom Soup

  • One can Cream of Celery Soup

  • 3-4 cans water

  • One packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix

  • Stew Meat

  • Potatoes

  • Carrots

  • Celery if you want

I like to put my stew meat and half the packet of onion soup mix with a tiny bit of water, in the crockpot the night before. Let it cook on low all night. (This makes it nice and tender, but certainly is optional.) The next morning add all the other ingredients and cook on high for 6-8 hours until vegetables are tender.

So get the crockpot out, get dinner going, forget about it, and go out and VOTE!

****If you have a tried and true recipe you'd be willing to share, leave a comment with the recipe title and post the recipe on your blog so we can all come and check it out. Thanks for playing; the more the merrier! ****

Why does it feel as though I talked with you at LEAST three days ago, and it was meerly this morning! Was it this morning? It just seems like DAYS ago. I'm up late, after napping all morning long, pretending to excuse myself with neck issues. Soon, my neck will be all better, and then what excuse will I have? lol...

Anyway, this IS a recipe for me, for certain. Nobody gets to call me out on not being a cook except for you....only you. To everyone else, they still may simply know me as "girl who wants to learn how to cook, but refuses to try". It's a wall, it's cooking block...I just can't do it...no desire.

None.

Anyway, admittedly so, this recipe really does look like something just for me. I even LOVE stew. I'm the only one in my little family however. Maybe my fam will like the Elena version better.

Big day for me tomorrow. I can't wait for you to see my first "back from the neck pain and all better" post. It's exciting. Don't call...I'll spill the beans. Maybe I already told? I was trying so hard not to!

Don't call me for real! I don't want to tell, and you know how I can't NOT TELL you ANYTHING!!! I've really done well if I haven't. Yes, you may be impressed with my secrecy (is that a word? or.is.that.how. you spell it?) if you have absolutely NO clue what I'm talking about! Is it really almost 1 a.m.?

Sheesh....bloggy ramble...need to go to bed.

It is cold and rainy here and we are expecting snow this afternoon. I think that it is a great day for stew.

I like Jennifer P recipe. I can so do that one too....in fact I think that I have already done that too much :(.

My T-I-T is Chicken and Broccoli Bake. It is yummy and so easy and another great cold day dish.

And I even have a recipe for this week. It'll probably be up on Thursday...which in the grand scheme of things is still a TIT day :-)

And I took pictures while making my chicken and dumplings last night...so I'll have that for another day. I just have to remember which day to post...

Your stew looks good. But I have not had much luck with my crock pot. I wonder what I am doing wrong...
