SITS

This is dedicated to my dear friend Jennifer P. who asks me "How come you don't do SITS?"

See that fun button above? Yeah, it's SITS or The Secret is in the Sauce. It is such a fun site, much like Blog Around the World where many bloggers come together to make new friends and get more readers.

The SITS girls feature new sites daily and have many fun giveaways. (Today being a HUGE giveaway day. Go check it out.)

The truth is, I DO do SITS. I have been there from the beginning. Watched the construction of their site and have watched their readership go up and up and up. (I'm just a wimp and I don't comment. Which is the entire purpose of SITS, so I guess technically, maybe I don't do SITS.) But I do recognize SO many faces (okay avatars, that's a word I learned through this blog journey) and feel like I'm seeing all my friends in the comments on various blogs.

My blog started out as a place to keep in touch with family and friends and I intend to keep it that way. I print it in books and enjoy to see what our family has done over the years. I am grateful for all the original commenters that are still here today. And I LOVE all the new friendships I've discovered by blog hopping and getting brave enough to comment. I get rather attached to my bloggy friends.

I don't decorate, or find ways to save money, or write poetically, or take beautiful pictures, or have anything to offer other than my adorable family and occasionally my personal insight to things. So, I don't go out and seek new readership, (of course when I find someone I click with I'm friends for life) but I can't let today pass by without letting the SITS girls know that they do a great job. Fabulous ladies, fabulous! (Even though they don't read my blog, and I'm a chicken and didn't link this post to them, but still...) And maybe one of you will hop on the SITS bus and make some new friends.

Elena, you are honestly one of the sweetest people I have ever met in the blogosphere. Ever. That was really a completely honest and selfless post. I just adore you.

SITS is a lurking place for me. Although I am like you I check them out and when I see the same commenters on the places that I haunt them I check them out....
Great post!!!

HEY.....I see you....there....being your complete adorable self in this post! Awwwwwww...

People should take it as a complete treat to see you this way, the true Elena. I just LOVE it. It's settling to my stomach. I don't know why.

Good job my friend. My music "Say What You Need To Say" fits your post so well today.....

NOT that you're not your true self all of the time anyway btw!

This one was just MORE yourself than usual....

I'm not making sense.

Now I'm listening to your Wind it Up song. I feel like being Gweneth and making a peace sign and sayin'
"Peace out!" That's so not me....

We'll pretend it's from her...

"Peace Out Elena", with pursed Gweneth lips...

Awww...I was wondering the same thing :-)

My blog started out being about homeschooling. And then about the girls. And then about the family. And I guess I couldn't contain the "me" in all that - especially since there was rarely a Me at my own house.

I love all the bloggers and connections I've found. And I am with you on comparing to what other people write. I don't decorate. Or do crafts. I spend way too much money. Writing is a chore. My pictures aren't too bad...but my blog of random drivel is so me...and I am so very amused to see myself as a "fav" of others.

And you my friend, are one of my favs...

Hey, Elena! I finally took the plunge and linked off to see you from Miki. :) I am on the SITS (and I can say this here because the people who got me there aren't following me here) purely for a friend of mine's sake. My blog was meant for my family and ward member friends, but eventually it grew and I have made lots of bloggy friends, not one of whom came from SITS until this past week. And of all the little "followers" at the top, I know about 4 of them. And my linky list is over 60 blogs long of people that I actually know and love!

Where am I going with this? I don't really know. I guess I don't really know where my blog is going, either! It's just sort of become its own entity, as though it has a mind of its own, making friends with or without me! But I am so grateful for some of them (Yes, Miki, that means you!). My blog is like a friend who introduces me to people and lives I otherwise wouldn't touch or be touched by. I'm glad for it, even though I HOPE it never gets out of control. I don't want any fame, I don't need "followers" to make me happy. I'm just about the dadgum-happiest gal a person could ever hope to meet, anyhow! :)

And I am with you all the way on the SITS thing. I am NO crafter, photographer, interesting writer, either. I just babble and post lots of pics of my kids and my recipes. And I am okay with that! :)

Anywho, I have been meaning to stop in and introduce myself and exchange "glad to meet you's" with ya. Here I am, finally plunging into it! :)

*MWAH!*

I still say you're SITS worthy :)--but when I finally throw the blogging towel in to go and reclaim "life" :)--you know I'll ALWAYS still be reading YOUR blog!

Just never, never, never, never sell yourself short! You have sooooo much to offer---and lots of us know that!
