Try-It-Tuesday

Because I've gotten a few new readers and participants since I started T-I-T, I thought I ought to explain the meaning behind the name. Yes, I know T-I-T (read letter by letter, not said as a word) probably isn't the most appropriate name for my recipe exchange. But it all started with this post and the title was SO not going to stay "Try-It-Tuesday". However, it became kind of a running joke with a few of my friends and readers and then I just decided to leave it. So please don't be offended by my title of choice, and go ahead and change it if you so desire. What I really care about is that you give me YUMMY recipes to try! :) So there you have it, now on to the real topic......food!

This week I am trying to "carb deplete" my body (read Crack the Fat Loss Code to learn more) and cut out sugars and carbs. (I did this (well my own version) about a month ago and lost 7 pounds, so here I go again, hoping for 7 more!) And since I'm not supposed to be eating those things, what does my body naturally crave? Of course, sugar and more sugar. So today, I'm sharing a yummy dessert that works GREAT for an after school snack. It's one my mom used to make ALL of the time when I was kid.

Peanut Butter Cups (in bar form)

1 cube butter or margarine

1/2 c. + 2 Tbl. peanut butter

2 c. powder sugar

3/4 c. finely crushed graham crackers (this is about 5 or 6 crackers)

Mix above ingredients well, place in a buttered 8X8 pan. Press down firmly. Top with 3-4 oz. melted chocolate. (About 3 regular size Hershey choc. bars.) I like these room temperature, but NOT warm.
****If you have a tried and true recipe you'd be willing to share, leave a comment with the recipe title and post the recipe on your blog so we can all come and check it out. Thanks for playing; the more the merrier! ****

ah man! you just had to show a chocolate and peanut butter thing! Would it be wrong of me to eat that for breakfast? It would, wouldn't it?

7 pounds! Holy cow! Way to go girl :)!

Lee Ann- I'll bet you could substitute the graham crackers for wheat germ and these'd be pretty yummy too. Wait, can you eat wheat germ? Maybe not.

Jennifer- Hey, it's protein right? And I'll let you in on a secret, I ate them for breakfast last week. :)

Great job at losing weight! It sounds like the diebetic diet that I was on when pregnent. I've thought about doing it, but well sugar is HUGE weakness for me :( I love peanut butter squares! I will have to try yours!

You WOULD have to tempt me on DAY 1 of my new weight loss attempt. Remember when I told you about my friend who was trying a new product that wasn't even on the market? Well, it's out and I just got my package yesterday. Another friend started last week and lost 5 pounds that week! She told me that it actually helped her with her sweet tooth (I have a hard time believing that it will dull my ACTIVE sweet tooth, but I'm willing to give it a try!).

Anyway. . .it's pretty fun to see how much weight Annette has lost (25 pounds in 8 weeks, I think--check out her blog from my links on my page and look at her August postings Day 50-51 to see her weight loss).

Yum! I did Atkins for the past three weeks. I lost 16 pounds. And was a total b*tch. Sugar needs me. So, after many cupcakes, and a run to dunkin donuts, all is right with the world. And I am gonna hafta make these!

Looks like I might have gotten here too late, but I prefer a little more chocolate than what she has here. I like at least 4 oz. or even 5 is better. And I like to eat them with a spoon when the chocolate is still oooey goooey on top.

I printed this one...it's a start. I looked at the recipe...it's a jog. I saw it was very doable, I'm near the finish.

I think I'll make it...
