Randomness of all Randomness

WOW! What a day yesterday was! So much fun. Thank you to everyone who took time to leave a comment and make me feel like a celebrity for a day. I've tried to wade my way through and thank you on your own blogs and I think I've gotten almost everyone. (I now have tendinitis.)

Yesterday, while I couldn't pull myself away from the computer (because every time I would hit refresh a new comment would pop up) my husband decided to pull a prank on me. He came home for lunch (I had no idea) and heard the bath tub water running. A few minutes earlier I had told Kate to go turn it on so we could shower for the day (yes it was 1 pm) and get ready.

So Jarom, knowing I haven't done much besides sit in the office chair, hides in the closet and calls me from his cell.

Jarom- "Where are you?!"

Me- "In the office."

Jarom- "The neighbors have been trying to get a hold of you. They say there is water coming out the bathroom window. What's going on?"

Me- "What?! Water?! Where?! Hang on, I'll call you back!" And then I mad dashed it down the hall and heard the water in the tub running. My heart about hit my throat and I was sick, thinking that I had let time get away from me and had now flooded my entire bathroom bad enough that water was seeping out the window.

I looked in the tub and there was only a few inches of water. And no water that I could see flowing through the window. I was so confused, I thought maybe we had a busted pipe or something. While I'm thinking of all the $$ that this is going to be, Jarom JUMPS out of the closet and proceeds to laugh his head off. I could have killed him. But oh he thought he was funny.

Also, did you know I was a crack dealer? I didn't, but hey, if anyone needs some give me a call.

Be sure to run on over to Jennifer P.'s blogiversary party and wish her a good day.

I knew the Dish Network guy would be coming today to fix my DVR. What I didn't know was that he would show up at 7:55 AM while I was still wearing my pink chinese silk robe. While my house still smelled like morning breath and dirty dishes from lasts nights' dinner. While I was shouting at my kids to get them out the door to school on time. While the guinea pig cage still hasn't been cleaned because I keep forgetting to go the pet store and buy bedding. While Carter and Kate are still wearing the dirty clothes they slept in and wore yesterday. While my house has basically been neglected from all my comment love from yesterday. Ahhh....the poor dish man, he got an EYE FULL this morning.

And one last thing, your tip of the day. Never just pull the drain of the full tub your child has just puked in and then go back to bed. Because if you do, you'll wake to a dried ring around the tub of NASTY!

I love your blog! I totally get the bathtub tip at the end--my little Chihuahua has a puking problem. It's amazing where puke will show up.

Ugh. I don't know what's worse, puke or poop. I havn't had puke yet, hopefully never. Thank goodness it was only a prank. My son was supposed to be napping, instead he flooded the bathroom. I didn't know it until I heard dripping in the bathroom on the first floor.
Arn't Bathrooms fun!

I tried to get to everyone who commented on mine too. And then I lost track. I think I did. But I am not positive :-)

So, are you the type that will try to get Jarom back? The revenge cycle here is endless.

And puke in your tub? Wait...I don't want to know.

Oh wear do I even start on this one? hahahahahahahaha! Such a typical Manwaring household I'm picturing him! Jarom getting a kick out his own joke--it WAS a good one!

And about your dish guy----at least it wasn't the police, right :)?!

Thanks for sending your posse my way. I've got a lot of hits from here today and was wondering why! You crack dealer you :)!

And I can't believe you made it through everyone! I have two days worth of new commenters to get to, and all my old favorites too. And a whole class worth's of stuff to prepare to say about blogging. Augh! I like to be busy but this is, well.....

Happy Day :)~ Thanks for the laugh!

Oh, Elena, I am laughing so hard! I TOTALLY know how you feel though...don't we all? I had the infamous visiting teaching appointment that I forgot all about while my washer was traveling the house, the kids were into everything, my kitchen was a disaster from dinner...maybe lunch? I don't know! Anyway, you could write a book! Your posts are so fun to read! LOL!!

Kat- If only I were creative enough to get Jarom back. I can never think of anything good. If you have any ideas send them my way. And yep, my 9 year old daughter has been dealing with reflux and threw up in the bathtub. It was so nasty.

who puked?! NASTY! and who shows up at 7:55 in the AM anyway?

ha! That was a great prank! I loved your description of your morning scene. I'm sure it wasn't as bad as you made it sound, but it sure painted a picture (and a smell)!

Ah, the pill!! I think I'd have had a heart attack!! What a prankster. :) And yes, I can hear him laughing at his own joke too (good call Jennifer!).

Ugghh. . .yeah, I've learned the hard way about letting the tub water out after children and not rinsing it out. YUCK!

Ewwwww! So that would mean you have to scrub dried vomit! You poor, poor woman. I always try to wrap my kids' heads in towel when they throw up, easy cleanup :)

Oh, Elena, you are so funny!! I'm so glad you aren't a perfect housewife (EITHER!) because otherwise this blog wouldn't be nearly as fun to read. Or make me jealous of your sexy pink robe (mine is a 13 year old terry cloth piece of nastiness...)

HOLY. I was about to leave a comment on you Idaho post because you really do make Idaho sound WAY awesome... maybe we really should move there... but I was afraid you would never find my comment. I can't believe you're actually getting back to all of these people-- I am so impressed!! And even with the pukey tub and everything!!

Oh Elena...I just read all the comments on my blog about everyone's height and left there lauging in tears and now I came over here and started right up again. My husband is listening to me and thinks I'm nuts. That was seriously a funny funny story. You need to submit that to Vick's Best Post of the Week. It was great!

See? I don't stalk...I just come right out and say it...

Tonight I will go to bed with thoughts of your pukey bathtub drain in my head. Because that's gross. But you are AWESOME for owning up to it. You are my kind of people. Yep.

You crack me up Elena. Reading your blog is often the high light of my day!

I just couldn't read it again....no, my cheeks will not be able to take it.

I really agree with Debbie. This one should be out there for a lot of people to enjoy...

How fun.

btw, I read a quote from someone very famous whilst shopping tonight for my sister's wedding gift (at Target...where else?)...but it said something like this...

"Friends are those whom thinking out loud is comfortable"

They said it much more eloquently, but it's so true, and it (of course) made me think of us.

I love it.

I always love a good practical joke! Were you startled out of your mind? I'll bet after you calmed down, you really did need a good relaxing bath! We're doing Recipe Week thru Sunday, so please come by again to see what's cookin'!

I LOVE YOUR BLOG! Jarom sounds hilarious just like Jeremy (real funny when the jokes on you!).
I have to say the dish man deserved what he got for showing up at such an early hour.
As for the throw up in the tub...it takes me back to some extremely nasty clean ups I've had to do myself...
Loved your Idaho blog and to see what your family is up to.
Oh, and I have gone on your she does hair site to check out and it is awesome!!!! Thank you!

So when they showed the video last night about the AM visiting teachers . . . all I could think about was you and the dish guy!

Lee Ann said...

I'm crying! That was so stinkin' funny. I would have killed Jarom.

I'm sure the dish man is used to mornings like you.

And the bathtub. EEEWWWW!!! Thanks for the advice!

I didn't even leave you a comment on Wed. By the time I looked you had 81 and I decided you had to be overwhelmed reading all those:-) Sorry.

Too bad your husband didn't take a picture of you when he jumped out of the closet! Now that would have been great blog material!
