Aaaannnd....They're Off!

The big day has arrived. It's the first day of school.

First day of 2nd grade; Halle. Halle is really excited to be in Mrs. Ball's class for the 2nd year and this year she gets to help mentor the 1st graders. She's in a spectrum class that stays with the same teacher for 3 years. No nerves for Halle.

First day of 4th grade; Alyssa. Alyssa, on the other hand, will be without Bailey for the first time since 1st grade. She's a little sad. And I have to admit, it was strange not to send Bailey off to class this morning too. I felt like I was missing a kid or something. They don't even get to line up on the same side of the school this year. I think that if their friendship can survive this year, they'll have it made for life. They're such cute little friends, I hope they make it.

I can't believe my girls are in 2nd and 4th grades!! I remember those years so vividly from my own childhood and it sure doesn't seem long ago. I had the same teacher for both 2nd and 4th grade, Mrs. Williamson, and boy did I LOVE her. Those years are probably my most favorite elementary school years. (Well, I loved 5th grade too with Mr. Wood.) I hope my girls have as enjoyable 2nd's and 4th's as I did.

Good luck babies!!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Back to School!

Your skinny girls! I've never seen baggy leggings before! Wow they're getting big.

Yay for first day of school! .....ahhhhhh.....whew....you made it too! I'm a little sad for Alyssa. She and Bailey are just good buddies. I hope she finds a way to spend some time with her. At least she can talk at lunch!

Look at that bag, it is huge and stuffed with 36 freshly sharpened pencils.

I hope that your day is as great as mine has been. And their off is right....here we go ready or not.

Julie- I KNOW, I can't find the tight ones, so the lose ones work.

Miki- Yes, she can talk, but they can't sit by each other. Bummer.

Queen- LOL! Yep, 36 pencils and two big boxes of kleenex.

Aren't they cute?! And how cool that she gets to stay with the same teacher.

So...what are you doing on this big day?

So cute. And I love the way she stays with the same teacher for three years....good I guess only if you like the teacher.

And those bags....that kills my shoulder just looking at it. :-)

Kat- Don't you worry, I've been plenty busy with the two little ones. My babysitters have gone off and left me for the classroom. :(

Lee Ann- Yes, it's really good for Halle. We LOVE her teacher. She's one of the best in the nation for this type of classroom setting. It builds self esteem and responsibility like nothing else. Halle has grown leaps and bounds in just the first year alone.

My first thought was, "Alyssa always has the biggest school bags, back packs, suitcases, or whatever it is she picks to take her school stuff in!" If you think you can't believe you have a 2nd and 4th grader, just think what it does to me. (Because you know you are still one of my babies too.)

They ARE such cutie pies! I want a leggins under denim skirt outfit---I think I DID have one of those about the 4th grade :)!

Wishing Bailey and Alyssa make it through this year too. A good friend is always such a blessing!

5th grade was my favorite of all favorite years in elementary school! Mr. Wood was the best! We didn't have 2nd or 4th together. Wish my memories were better of those days. I have a few memories though. Like when Mary got mad at me because I tried to copy a picture she drew because I thought it was so cool. Really hurt my feelings! Funny how little things like that stand out.
