Sleep Outs and Strike Outs

The kids have been begging to sleep out on the tramp. So last night we decided to give it a whirl. I think my day of sleeping outside on a tramp has come and gone. As a kid I LOVED it, but last night was just miserable and I admit I'm a wuss. At 1 AM after dogs barking, neighbors talking, my arm falling asleep from lack of circulation, bouncing along with every movement made, and my left half turning into an ice cube because the blankets didn't quite reach, I gave up and went inside to the comfort of my own cozy king size bed. Jarom was a trooper and toughed it out all night. At 5 AM (we SOOO do not do early mornings around here) when the kids woke up he took them to get donuts for breakfast. It was a fun night, now we're done with that little adventure. I'll lay out and look at the stars any time with them, but I'm not attempting to sleep out again any time soon.

Later in the day we got to play our cousins in Carter's t-ball game. We've been looking forward to this game. It was fun to see Gracie and Carter together on first base. Look at her ready stance!
Here's Jaden getting ready to run. "Hey Carter, pay attention to the ball!" (He threw a ball and hit a kid smack in the head. I was so embarrassed, but thankfully the kid was okay.)

Way to go Incredibles and Pirates!!

Hey!!!! This post is brand spankin' new! That trampoline DOES look fun to sleep on. Why must we become adults? It's good in some ways, and so achy in others!

I liked the creative names of the teams. Which is Carter's again? I'm guessing pirates since the other team has red shirts.

All I can do is laugh at that trampoline description.

I am with you about sleeping out on the trampoline - it is not for us that really do want to sleep. But it does bring back fun memories of childhood. You are such a good sport to try though.

Oh you are such good parents! I wouldn't have lasted either, especially knowing my bed was just a few feet away.

Yah for daddy saving the morning.

I bet everyone was ready for a nap after the big game :) Being a parent can bring a lot of sleepless nights in more ways than one! Love the pictures ... go Manwarings!!! (that way you can cheer for both teams at once) I wonder if we'll see a replay of this when our boys are in high school?

Wow...I'm impressed you slept out on the trampoline at all. At our house that would have been a daddy activity. While I stayed up late blogging and eating peanut m&ms.

I bet your kids *loved* it! And then donuts for breakfast...good times!

Ahhh - I remember those good ole' days! Every once in a while we'll go sleep on Ryan's Parent's tramp - but we haven't done that in a long time...thank heavens!!! It is miserable, now that our bodies are older and not as resilient - okay - i can't spell - anyways, looks like fun!

Are we still doing T-I-T recipe day, or did I just space it?

I did that as a kid too. Fun memories! I love that Dad took them for donuts too. My dad did that when I was a kid as well. Love it!

You are braver than I am to sleep on the tramp! I'm such a light sleeper that I would've given up after the first 5 minutes! Ryan, on the other hand, would've stuck it out like Jarom and then taken the kids out for some donuts......wait a minute, the kids have never had a donut --- they all have egg ingredients! I think it's a crime that my children have never even sniffed a donut... :(

Brandon, I mean Carter, nice shot!

My favorite part of sleeping on the trampoline (not) was waking up soaking wet from all the dew!

Jarom's a trooper for sure!

Glad you brought your t-i-t back---though that doesn't look much better even with the -'s in it :)!

Sleeping on the tramp always seemed so fun as kids, but you always woke up with a wet pillow and everyone on top of each other in the center of the tramp. Fun times though, and great memories right?

Again, you're such a fun mom! Way to go! I guess I might have considered being fun with the kids here, but my trampoline is ruined. I'm looking for another one. Bummer. . .
