Overnight in Wolverine..well almost.

Saturday night, on a whim, we decided to go camping with Brandon and Emily. There is a place not far from here called Wolverine Canyon that we thought we'd try out. So at 9:30 PM (yes we are VERY spontaneous around here) we pulled out of town and headed to Wolverine.

When we got to the mouth of the canyon there was a road closed sign and a barracade (still too much snow). We decided we didn't dare chance going past, so we just pulled over where we were and camped for the night. Aside from it being a sage brush filled cow patch, we had a great time.

We enjoyed smores over the fire, hungry man hash and blueberry muffins for breakfast, and dutch oven peach-raspberry cobbler. (Halle kept calling the dutch oven pan a dutchess pan.) Is there really any food better than camping food? Thanks for the fun time Brandon and Emily!

Our "beautiful" camping spot.

Kate enjoying the fire. We had a good sized fire, but it was pretty chilly outside.

Brandon and Addie

The girls had a blast decorating rocks with "cave men drawings" using their smoker sticks.

Carter's all time favorite camping game, Super Hero Match.

This was Johnny's and Addie's first camping trip and they had a blast running up & down the hill and sniffing out all the dead cow and dear carcusses. Mmmmmm.... Believe or not, Johnny didn't bark once in the night, even with the door opening and closing. He did bark at the cows and ATV-ers that came near by the next day though.

Alyssa, Emily, and Halle

Beware, if you go near Blackfoot, you'll come home with black feet.

How FUN!!! Too bad we missed it. Eli didn't like staying up on Friday night and decided to let us know it all day Saturday! :(

See what I mean? You guys are so spontaneous and fun! Way to go!

Wow! you guys ARE spontaneous! How long did you and Jarom date before you got married? Just kidding. :) Sounds like you had a blast!!! Love those little black feet! And the indian drawings sound fun, too!

Rachel- We do lots of boring stuff too, I just post the fun parts. :)

B & E- (Like the new nicknames?) We for sure have to do it again! Maybe we'll get a little more sleep next time.

Becky- I know, it would have been fun to have everyone there. Next time we'll have to not be quite so spontaneous so more people can join us.

Kaylin- I heard that Eli let you have it. Poor kid, guess he's getting too old for late night movies.

Angela- LOL! Once in a blue moon we are.

Deanna- Believe it or not, Jarom and I dated for 5 years before we got married. But had we been older when we started, I am sure it would have been much shorter.

Like I told you, I just can't believe how spontaneous you are, NOR can I believe that you've found just as spontaneous people to go with you!!! That sort of world is just SO unknown to me!!!

OVerwhealmed for sure (me that is). I like looking at what you did, because I always think, "what do you do? It's so boring!"

I want to paint rocks with my Indian paintbrush now. That looked like fun. I hope that game isn't only reserved for kids (I know I'll look silly doing it, but it just looks so fun).

Also, those dinners and breakfasts. Just what the heck is hungry man hash, and how in the heck do you have time to make blueberry muffins for breakfast!!!

Obviously, it must be easier than I think (that almost sounded like a put down). I mean, you're gormet cook out there with your fresh blueberries and pan over the campfire!

See, I think there's something else to it rather than blueberry muffin pan over a campfire. I know you'll let me know....

I think everyone can tell I haven't talked to you in a few days. I'm going on and on! I'll have to wait for the phone call!!!

btw (see, we really need to chat), I'm making it sound as if I've never been camping. We went all of the time when we were kids. Water was the most fun part. I just don't think the mommy part sounded very fun, so now, I'm just not looking forward to going, even though I know I will for the kids.

Maybe cooking over the fire will be more fun than I imagine.

Miki- you just let the kids get as dirty as they want and don't think about it until you get home. And the muffins were cooked in the oven of my camper. And Hungryman has is sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, and cheese, all cooked together in the dutch oven and yes, over the fire. :)

Let me get this straight. On the spur of the moment, on a Saturday night you all just decided to up and go camping. With kids in tow. In the wilderness. Camping. At the last minute??? Wow. I am so impressed. I've been camping once. Now I like to look at the camp grounds from the comfort of my car on the way to a hotel ;)

Debbie- Yep, a camping we will go. Mind you, it was in my trailer. A tent is a completely different story.

That looks like it was a blast! I'm sure I would love camping more if there was a trailer involved! It's all the tent-ing and cooler-ing and no running water-ing that I don't like about camping!

Glad you guys had fun--even Johnny!

FUN! Spur-of-the-moment camping looks WAAAAAAAY more fun when you have a trailer! I like the black feet.

It's good to have black feet once in awhile.... Makes you appreciate having clean feet more! :)
