Chick Days at CAL Ranch

Posted by Picasa

Is there anything cuter or more springy than a baby chick? (I know I don't need to use baby in front of chick, but it just sounds sweeter that way.)

Update on Jarom: Last night the infection moved down his face and he looked like he had giant bags under his eyes, but this morning he looks much better and the swelling on the bridge of his nose is pretty much gone. I think he's on the mend, it's just very strange how it keeps moving lower and lower.

And are they SURE it wasn't a spider bite? My niece was bit by a brown recluse a few years back, and that thing spread from her hip all down her leg.

Glad he's getting a little better though! Let him know he's in our prayers!

and thanks for cute pictures of chicks!

I'm glad he's getting better. How did he drive home in that condition? Justin was considering getting Ben and going over and get him on Friday, but it looks like he made it back ok.

As for the chicks, that's one of my kids favorite, too. They are so cute, until they meet Ogden.

I just got caught up on your blog. Whoa! Poor Jarom- I am so glad he's on the mend and got medical treatment.

What do the Drs say about the infection moving down? So strange. . .

Yes, we love BABY chicks too! :)

Baby chicks. I haven't played with one of those since I was six years old. I think it's time for a visit. Where oh where can I find a CAL ranch over here?

:)

Jennifer- They haven't said anything about a spider bite. Did her's seem the infection was moving or just spreading?

Amber- He could see okay by the time he left and it just kept getting better as the drive went on. As far as how he's feeling he's fine, just a tender head. Thanks for thinking of him though. And keep the poor chicks away from Ogden; I can only imagine the outcome. :)

Julie- Yes, it's been exciting here.

Angela- He said he asked if he should be concerned about it spreading farther and they told him no. I sure hope they know what they're talking about.

Miki- I bet ..(man I just forgot the name of the store)...that store up the hill from Walmart (you know the road you take to get to the stake center?) would have chicks right now. I remember going there when we lived there. And they had quail chicks that were SOOOOO cute!

LOVE your new page! How do you keep putting those together?!

And I'll talk to my niece about her spider bite today. All I can remember now was that they thought it was just an ingrown hair or something, but that it kept getting more and more swollen and painful. By the time they took her to the hospital (2 days later), the tissue right around the bite was actually dead and black. They were able to keep that from spreading, but I know that spot on her hip still hurts today.
