No more binky.

Kate has been our only binky baby. The other's all weaned themselves at four months. But Kate has been VERY attached to her binky, so I wasn't quite sure how to handle the weaning process with her.Over the weekend "binky" got lost. (Seriously, I have 6 and can't find even one.) So, I decided rather than tearing the house apart, or going to the store for a new one, I would just do away with "binky". Kate, believe it or not, is doing really well. She's asked a couple of times, "Where'd binky go?" And I just tell her binky is bye-bye. She'll say, "K" in the most pathetic little voice ever, but doesn't cry about it or anything.

I am definitely more upset about it than she is. I am not sure if it's because she is my baby and I want to keep her that way, or if it's because I had my "plug" long enough that I remember how much I loved it. At any rate, she's doing great and has even slept through the night twice now without it.

I decided that while I was strong enough to take it away, I might as well do away with the bottles too. She hasn't even asked for one. She was never as attached to those as she was binky. I think I am publishing this post because I'll be less tempted to give them back to her if everyone knows. Anyway, here's to staying strong and binky free. :)

Seems we have the same problem-- James has been my only one to hang on to his binky. He had himself just about weaned a month ago, but for church sake I kept giving him one, and now he wants it all the time again. Don't even know where to start getting him to give it up.
Tell Kate congratulations and we think she is such a big girl (or still a cute baby for your sake!)

Thanks for the nice comments! Zane is learning out of the Noona series, and Ethan is in Piano Adventures. My sister-in-law also seems to always find the cutest sheet music. Her collection could sink a ship!

Oh how sweet! You need another baby! Ally was my only binky lover. I still have her binky in my bathroom cabinet-just like you said, it was way harder on me than her. Aren't they precious?

GOOD LUCK! I'm just trying to get my baby to TAKE a binky! Crazy how that is! He needs help getting to sleep and I don't want him to get his thumb. Anyway. . .

Good for you! It's so hard to watch them grow up. I'm having potty training trauma, not because Gordon doesn't want to (he even asks... I'm an idiot), but because I don't want to lose my baby. *Sigh*

At least she's the cutest little thing around!

Well, now you get a taste of that pathetic 'k' I had to deal with when she would ask me 'where mom go?' while y'all were in Hawaii. Breaks your heart. It also breaks your heart not to give them their "plug" when they want it too.
