Boston

So, as some of you have noticed (Fur), I have a Boston countdown up now. Yes, we are going to Boston. Jarom is going for HP and has a free ticket that needs to be used before the end of the year, so I am going too. I am also taking Kate, because I can't stand the thought of leaving her again. So, I need ANY ideas you all can think of to entertain her for the 6 hour flight (on my lap), which I will be doing one way without Jarom's help. YIKES!! Seriously people, suggestions galore!!!!!

We went to Hawaii when Anna had just turned two. I always ask if there's an extra seat to put them in their own car seat. DVD player!!! Benadryl!! Wrap her toys in wrapping paper. Let her open one every once in a while. Lots of snacks! DVD player!! Benadryl! Strapped in her car seat!!!! Did I say DVD player and benadryl? I'll keep thinking.......

Lee Ann, you crack me up. I already have the jug of Benadryl ready to go. Great ideas. Thanks!

I would totally recommend Children's Bonine. It's for motion sickness and the stuff can totally knock an elephant out (I know cause I tried it after I gave it to the kids at the fair and they slept for 14 hours that night!). And then you wouldn't have to feel guilty because, technically, she COULD get sick on the plane, right? I would also suggest little cans of play-doh, books from the library, and--oddly enough--James could spend all day trying to push my credit cards through the teeth of a comb I carry in my purse (instant game while we wait anywhere!). The carseat is a great option if you don't mind lugging the thing through the airport and being prepared to check it gate-side if there isn't an empty seat for it. Good luck duck!

I am going to try the Benedryl vs. Bonine this weekend and see which one works better. I'll let you know. Thanks for all the suggestions. Keep them coming. (Except Fur, she can can keep her comments to herself! :) )

Definitely try out the Bedadryl first, especially if she hasn't had it before? It makes some kids fly higher than a kite. I remember now that I gave Anna Dramamine for that flight, but I think they have to be two to give them that. Good luck!

Oh, and I always ask about the car seat when I check my bags, so I don't have to lug it through the airport if there's not going to be a seat. I'll try to post some funny airport stories later today....including the vomit one.

They will gate check the car seat in Denver if the next flight is full.

What a great time to visit Boston! Lucky! I don't have any advice for you...but I do like the idea about wrapping her toys.

If the flight from I.F. is booked, I would ask them to check the status of the next flight. If it's already booked then you know to just check it. If it's not, then I guess I would gate check it in I.F. so they give it back to you with your stroller when you get to Denver.
