Carter and Callie have bonded and enjoy each other's company. It's been a lot a fun to see them together. The girls have had fun having Callie around as well.
We've had the pleasure of having my cousin Tonya and her little girl Callie here this past week. We've done some fun things and one, was going to Bear World. The kids had a blast and loved the petting zoo. I think Grammy quite enjoyed the petting zoo as well.
Well, Kate's hair was seriously frumpy. It looked like a Donald Trump comb over. So Jarom and his sister Emily talked me into giving Kate a hair cut. Emily gave her a cute little page-boy do. I must admit, I do miss her fly-away wings over her ears, but she looks pretty cute like this too. Hopefully now it will all grow out evenly. Here are some before, during, and after shots.
We went to the museum and saw the Savage Seas exhibit. It was very cool and the kids had a great time. I cna't believe how big dinosaurs were. YIKES! Glad I'm not swimming in the water with these things now days!
Well, Kate thinks she is big girl now. We can officially say she is crawling and she stands up on anything that she can get her hands on. She doesn't have balance yet though, so she knocks her head quite frequently. She's just not quite old enough to be standing but don't tell her that!
We sold our little Kia car and the people paid us in cash. We let the kids hold the money ($1000) and they thought it was pretty cool. Carter wasn't picky, he was happy with just ONE Ben Franklin. Alyssa looked through the classifieds to find our ad, and announced that if we put our Mustang for sale we could probably get $2000. HA! Jarom told her that it we could probably get about 30 Kia's for the price of the Mustang to which she replied, "WHOA! Kia's are cheap!" HA!
Grampy had a friend who was going to throw away all of these little scooters, so Grampy grabbed them. He's been working on them to get them going. It makes A LOT of fun for the grandkids. Alyssa can even drive some of them herself. We call them the "Smith Fleet". Can you just imagine all of us rididng down the road on these!? HA!
These are Kate's two closest girl cousins, Gabby (Katie's) and Brylee (Kade's). She also has a boy cousin the same age as Gabby, Owen, but we don't have a picture of them together yet. We'll have to work on that. Gabby is 4 months older, and Brylee is 4 months younger.
We had a fun time at Grandma and Grandpa's today. It was very hot so we went water sliding down Bonzai Falls. I think the adults enjoyed it almost more than the kids. This one is of Justin. We all just went fully clothed since no one had suits except the kids.
For any of you who know me, know that I have had a deeply seeded fear of buffalo all of my life. Just look at the progress I am making. Yes, that is my door OPEN to take a picture of this guy standing just off the road!
We went camping in Yellowstone over Memorial weekend. It was very wet and VERY cold! When it wasn't raining it was snowing. However, we all survived and managed to have a good time. We saw lots of bison, elk, coyotes, and even seveal bears. The kids enjoyed it and were all troopers in the cold, even little Kate enjoyed herself.
